RENACCI TO HOST ENERGY DEVELOPMENT FORUM

Washington, DC—U.S. Representative Jim Renacci (OH-16) will host a public community energy development forum at Walsh University on Wednesday, May 23, at 6:30 p.m.

“With improvements to the process of extracting natural gas and oil, Ohio has an opportunity to become a major player in the domestic energy game,” said Rep. Renacci. “That means more jobs for Ohioans and more affordable energy for all Americans. Still, it is important we ensure energy production is undertaken in an environmentally sensitive manner. This forum will bring together a diverse group of experts to speak with the Canton community about what is occurring here in northeast Ohio on the energy front.”

The forum will focus on key aspects of energy development, such as the economic impact and job creation, environmental issues, leasing and landowner issues, and the geology and development of the Utica Shale formation. Attendees will also have an opportunity to voice their opinions and ask the panel specific questions.

Confirmed panelists include: Rhonda Reda, Executive Director of Ohio Oil & Gas Energy Education Program; Dr. Robert W. Chase, Chair and Professor, Department of Petroleum Engineering and Geology, Marietta College; Dale Arnold, Director, Energy, Utility and Local Government Policy, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation; and Jim McKinney, Senior Vice President & General Manager, EnerVest Operating, L.L.C.
